Brno, March 9th, 2011 – TrustPort, a leading global provider of security software, has announced another major step in the expansion of its worldwide operations. The company has launched a new regional office for Southeast Asia, located in the Malayan capital Kuala Lumpur. The move comes as part of the continuing strategy, whereby local branches are being established in the regions with a great market potential.

“We have watched with great interest the growth of the ICT industry in Southeast Asia,” explained Vladislav Nemec, Chief Executive Officer at TrustPort. “And our entry into the market was just a matter of time. Malaysia is well-positioned as a regional ICT hub and that is a compelling reason for us to set up our office here in Kuala Lumpur.” Vladislav Nemec took part in the official launch ceremony in Malaysia last week. The grand event was attended by numerous journalists and other guests.

TrustPort South East Asia, aims to capture 10 percent of the regional data protection market within three years. “Southeast Asia is a crowded market. In order to achieve the target, we did a lot of marketing, and a brand awareness campaign, to educate the end-users about our products,” continued Nemec. Tee Boon Tiong, Vice-President of Sales at TrustPort South East Asia, commented on this objective: “I am confident about penetrating the Southeast Asia market. We continue to work with partners, customers, the government and we get great help from TrustPort headquarters. We have established regional support through our appointed partner, MSS Lab Sdn Bhd, to provide first-class local customer service.“

Representatives of TrustPort headquarters do not conceal their excitement about the growing interest of third parties and new partners in recent months. Marcela Parolkova, Sales Director of TrustPort, had this to say: “Because of our outstanding results in independent comparative tests, we have experienced constant growth in sales. That combined with our value added partners, that we gained last year, and the successful online trading, we are confident that we will carry on growing fast. When you compare years 2010 and 2009, you can see that our global sales have doubled. We never stand still. Our aim is to ensure that we have both satisfied customers and satisfied partners.” TrustPort partners enjoy above-standard commission and first-class support, factors that have contributed largely to the existing success of TrustPort.

TrustPort is launching its new product line of security software for personal computers. While the existing portfolio included two alternative products, the new product range comprises three security products, each offering a different level of protection. The products are named TrustPort Antivirus 2011, TrustPort Internet Security 2011, and TrustPort Total Protection 2011. At the same time, TrustPort is introducing new product bundles for securing of entire computer networks, under the umbrella title TrustPort Security Elements.

TrustPort has adapted to an established model, where manufacturers offer three alternative security solutions, side by side. In the context of this model, TrustPort Antivirus offers reliable basic antivirus protection; TrustPort Internet Security adds internet protection, personal firewall and parental lock; TrustPort Total Protection includes all of the above plus encryption and data shredding. The new product line features a brand new user interface, resident and internet protection acceleration, optimized update methods, and a number of other enhancements.

TrustPort portfolio for corporate customers underwent a fundamental change, too. Vast majority of companies use a variety of information technologies, merged into a single computer network. TrustPort Security Elements are the solution, tailored to this starting point. The customer can choose a variant of the solution according to the scale and composition of their computer network. TrustPort Security Elements have four levels, ranging from traditional protection of endpoint computers, right up to advanced network protection at both the entry point and end point.

TrustPort Security Elements Basic protects individual endpoint computers, while allowing them to be remotely managed and updated. TrustPort Security Elements Advanced protects not only endpoint computers, but also file servers, where important company data is stored. TrustPort Security Elements Premium extends the previous level of security to include advanced antivirus and antispam protection at the entry point. TrustPort Security Elements Ultimate offers all of the above plus web filtering and data encryption.

The new product range meets the requirements of our customers and partners,” explains Vladislav Němec, Chief Executive Officer at TrustPort. “The choice of three different antivirus products with different scales of security coverage represents nowadays a known and expected standard. In addition, our customers can better compare our and competing products.” TrustPort Antivirus 2011, TrustPort Internet Security 2011, and TrustPort Total Protection 2011 will be soon joined by TrustPort USB Antivirus 2011, designed for the protection of portable media, which will enter the market in the following weeks.

Users of TrustPort Antivirus 2010 and TrustPort PC Security 2010 need not be afraid about losing their license. Their product will continue to be updated and supported until their license expiration. “Customers who purchased older products during August and September of this year, will be entitled to a free upgrade to the new version,” added Marcela Parolková, Sales Director at TrustPort. “They can simply contact our sales department and their existing serial number will be exchanged for a new activation code.”

TrustPort PC Security tested by independent research lab in Beijing

May 24th, 2010 No comments

Vladislav_Nemec1Brno, May the 20th, 2010 – Independent comparative tests are necessary for the improvement of security software. PC Security Labs, a testing organization based in China, has recently published the results of its latest comparative testing. Thirty antivirus software manufacturers submitted their products, among them producers from America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. TrustPort scored well, and its software, TrustPort PC Security, ranked among the top four products.

PC Security Labs was established over two years ago in Beijing. It is the only independent research lab from China, which so far became member of the international Anti Malware Testing Standards Organization, associating scientists, testers and producers in the field of computer security. PC Security Labs performs regular comparative testing but recently started also one product testing. Testing reports are available on its website, both in Chinese and in English.

The latest comparative by PC Security Labs included thirty antivirus products and security suites. The testing method consisted of scanning on demand, using a malware set and a clean set. The malware set represented around one thousand top threats in the region; the clean set included popular software, downloaded and purchased in China. Two variables were measured, malware detection rate and false positives rate. Based on these two measurements, the final score was calculated.

TrustPort PC Security achieved an average false positive rate. However, it once again demonstrated outstanding performance, as far as detection rate goes. The security suite identified 99.3% of the malware samples. Only three competing products ended up with higher detection. All the best known antivirus manufacturers of the world scored significantly worse than the top four.

“We are of course delighted by the results of the test,” says Vladislav Němec, chief executive officer of TrustPort. “Our development team has worked hard to take our antivirus technology this far. At the same time, software innovation is a never ending process, meant to satisfy the evolving demands of our clients.” The latest testing results can be seen as a continuation of achievements from the past. TrustPort antivirus technology has been successful in the tests performed by West Coast Labs, Virus Bulletin, and AV-Comparatives recently. As a matter of fact, TrustPort often takes the topmost place of the chart.

TrustPort PC Security and TrustPort Antivirus are suitable for both home and business customers. Under the names TrustPort PC Security Business and TrustPort Antivirus Business, perfect security solutions are available, offering antivirus, antispyware and antispam, everything centrally managed using a single web console. For the protection of whole networks against malware and spam, TrustPort Net Gateway is a great choice.

West Coast Labs Checkmark illustrates the quality of TrustPort Antivirus

January 20th, 2010 No comments

Vladislav_NemecBrno, January the 19th, 2010 – TrustPort Antivirus security product has been thoroughly tested by the well known West Coast Labs. The aim was to test the functionality and performance of this antivirus solution. Based on the tests carried out, TrustPort Antivirus received the Checkmark certification in the categories of Anti-Virus Desktop and Anti-Virus Disinfection. In addition to the periodic awards from Virus Bulletin and from AV-Comparatives, West Coast Labs Checkmark has become another key independent test, confirming the quality of TrustPort Antivirus.

West Coast Labs provides certification in a wide range of test categories, falling within areas of network security, content security, and malware protection. TrustPort Antivirus was tested in two categories of the last mentioned area. In the Anti-Virus Desktop category, the condition for the certification was that the product would detect all malicious codes from a submitted set of in-the-wild viruses. In the Anti-Virus Disinfection category, certification was based on the ability of the product to clean the computer from in-the-wild viruses, collected during the last twelve months.

“This renowned certification is further indication that the customers may completely rely on TrustPort Antivirus in terms of detection and disposal of malware,” commented the event Vladislav Němec (photo), chief executive officer of TrustPort. “It is also good to understand that the certified antimalware technology, being the cornerstone of TrustPort Antivirus, is contained in TrustPort PC Security and TrustPort Net Gateway as well. With all these products, the customers now have a fair assurance of quality.”

To be truly effective, antivirus protection must be used at all entry points of the computer. This is why TrustPort Antivirus and TrustPort PC Security scan both the internet traffic, meaning incoming mail and browsed websites, and the memory media, connected to the computer. Computer security is further increased by the parental lock technology, which limits browsing of risky categories of websites.

“Our business partners are aware of our software quality but they need to illustrate it, especially to customers from the corporate segment and public administration,” said Marcela Parolková, head of sales department at TrustPort. “Thanks to continuing technological innovations, we have been lately at the top of independent comparative tests of security products. Now we have also acquired the major world certification, West Coast Labs Checkmark. We are sure that our partners will welcome this.”

TrustPort Antivirus and TrustPort PC Security are designed for both home users and corporate customers. Under the names TrustPort Antivirus Business and TrustPort PC Security Business, top security solutions are available, with central administration of all workstations in a corporate network. TrustPort Management central administration tool offers easy installations, updates and settings of software using a single web interface.
